The NSS Cadets from Bishop Cotton Boys’ School for the very first time went for an adventure camp to Ramanagra on the 3rd of February, 2024. There were a total of 76 students from 11th grade who were part of the National Service Scheme program organized by the school who went on the one-day Adventure Camp.
The aim of the Camp was to create Eco awareness through action-oriented activities which was carried out beautifully. The adventure camp featured a variety of thrilling activities aimed at fostering teamwork, courage, and an appreciation for nature. The students engaged in trekking through the scenic landscapes of Ramanagara, experiencing the beauty of the environment firsthand. Zip-lining and rappelling activities were conducted with the utmost care, ensuring both safety and excitement. Jhummering sessions were both challenging and rewarding, allowing students to overcome obstacles in a controlled environment.
Throughout the adventure camp, the students were under the guidance of experienced and qualified professionals, one of who was even an Old Cottonian, demonstrated a high level of expertise in adventure sports. Precautionary measures were implemented at each activity site to ensure the safety of every participant. The instructors conducted comprehensive safety briefings before each activity, emphasizing the importance of following guidelines and using safety equipment.
The adventure camp successfully incorporated an eco-awareness component, aligning with our school's commitment to environmental stewardship, while at the same time the camp made sure that the students enjoyed and also gained a bonding experience through various activities such as combined lunch and rain dance. Upon return, students were visibly energized and enthusiastic, sharing stories of their experiences with great excitement. The overall feedback from both students and instructors was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success of the adventure camp in achieving its intended objectives.
In conclusion, the one-day Adventure Camp at Ramanagara was a resounding success, combining adventure, education, and eco-awareness in a well-organized and safe environment. We extend our gratitude to the parents for entrusting us with this opportunity to provide our students with a memorable and enriching experience.
