The 79th Independence Day Inter House Quiz Competition for Standards IV and V was held on 11th August 2025 at the Sesquicentennial Hall. The event was graced by our Principal, Mr. Alistair R A Freese, Vice Principal, Mr. Anil Dutt, and the coordinators of the various departments, whose presence brought encouragement and prestige to the occasion.
The programme commenced with a vibrant fancy dress display, where students portrayed notable freedom fighters, vividly bringing to life the spirit of India’s struggle for independence. This was followed by the introduction of the quiz participants, house-wise, each team taking the stage with pride and enthusiasm.
The competition comprised six engaging rounds, each with five questions, focusing on freedom fighters, their contributions to the nation, and select general knowledge topics to test the students’ overall awareness. A nail-biting moment arose when a few houses tied for the top spot, leading to an exciting tie-breaker round. The final results were: Thomas House and Elphick House (joint third place), Pettigrew House (second place), and Pakenhem Walsh House (first place).
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and a closing prayer, marking the end of a day filled with learning, enthusiasm, and patriotic pride.
