The 2nd Edition of the Gospel Fest, organized by the Department of Scripture at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, was held on November 16, 2024. This much-anticipated event brought together students from various institutions to celebrate faith, fellowship, and talent.

The fest commenced with a solemn inaugural program, graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Johnson Verghese. The gathering began with a vibrant session of praise and worship, followed by an uplifting prayer led by Rev. Christopher Samuel, Assistant Secretary of the Karnataka Central Diocese and Member of the Board of Management.

The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the official opening of the event. Mr. Alistair R.A. Freese, Principal of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, extended a warm welcome and introduced the Chief Guest, Rev. Johnson Verghese. In his inspiring address, Rev. Johnson emphasized that true peace and harmony can only come from the Almighty, who fills the void in human hearts.

A highlight of the event was the special presentation titled “God the Deliverer.” This captivating showcase combined voice-over narration, Biblical videos, laser lighting, and a Bible-based concept, delivering a profound message of hope, faith, and trust in the Lord. It underscored the theme, “Arise and Shine, for Your Light Has Come,” deeply resonating with everyone present by reaffirming the Lord’s role as a miracle worker, promise keeper, and Waymaker.

During the inaugural session, the Student Head of Operations, Pratham R., introduced the event heads. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, setting the tone for an eventful day.

The Gospel Fest featured 14 dynamic competitions across multiple venues, drawing over 400 participants from 10 institutions. The atmosphere was alive with energy as students showcased their talents with passion and dedication.

The day culminated in a grand closing ceremony, where Bishop Cotton Girls’ School was crowned Overall Champions, and St. John’s High School emerged as Runners-Up.

The success of the Gospel Fest was a testament to the meticulous planning and seamless execution led by Mrs. Phoebe Charlotte, Head of Operations, and her dedicated team of teachers. Their efforts, coupled with the students’ enthusiasm, made the event a memorable and spiritually enriching experience.

To God be the glory for the success of this event.
