On the morning of June 12, 2024, our school organized a special assembly to raise awareness about a prevalent societal evil – child labour. The assembly began with a poignant poem by Swayam of Class XII 'B', which vividly depicted the contrasting lives of two children: one enjoying the privilege of formal education and the other forced to work for his daily bread, with his dream of schooling fading away.
The Chief Guest, Rev. Christopher Samuel, addressed the assembly with an enlightening speech. He drew close parallels to the blessings in our lives and implored us to show gratitude and thankfulness. Our guest speaker and alumnus, Mr. Ashish Samuel Paul (Batch of 2021, ISC), highlighted the dire and adverse effects of such unlawful and repressive practices.
Following a special performance by the school band and choir, the senior school students presented a moving act that spoke volumes about the harsh and unrelenting struggles of children exploited for work even today. Informative banners were displayed around the campus, inspiring every student to make an impact in the lives of the oppressed and combat unjust practices like child labour.
This observance of World Day Against Child Labour left a lasting impression on all, motivating us to work towards eradicating this grievous issue.
