On 31st August 2024, members of the Students’ Association for Fire Education (S.A.F.E) visited the Mayo Hall Fire Station, guided by teachers Mr Chandrashekar G, Mr Ganesh Babu, and Mr Sam Henry. The purpose of the visit was to deepen the students’ understanding of fire hazards and raise awareness about fire safety and prevention.
The students were taken on an informative tour of the fire station, where they observed the various equipment and techniques employed by firefighters in their daily operations. The station’s staff shared valuable insights into the different types of fire hazards that can arise in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
The highlight of the visit was a series of demonstrations showcasing firefighting techniques and rapid response protocols. These practical sessions underscored the importance of emergency preparedness and the crucial role that individuals play in fire prevention.
Overall, the visit was an eye-opening experience for the students. It reinforced the importance of fire safety measures and the need for vigilance in preventing fire-related incidents.
