The mood was celebratory, and the air was thick with patriotic fervor as children cheerfully walked into the Sesquicentennial Hall, proudly donning tricolour wristbands.
The event commenced with an invocation, seeking God’s blessings on the program. Two boys from Upper Kindergarten led the Bible reading and prayer, setting a reverent tone for the occasion.
The Kindergarten choir then performed a special song titled “Jai Hind,” perfectly setting the stage for the events to follow.
This was followed by a short speech on Founder’s Day, which reiterated the legacy and history of our School. The speech concluded with a brief presentation featuring rare, nostalgic photographs from the school’s early years, allowing everyone to take a walk down memory lane.
Next, a vibrant presentation explained the meaning and importance of Independence Day, as well as the national symbols that form a part of our country’s rich heritage.
With the significance of the occasion now understood, it was time for some fun and entertainment. The students of Lower Kindergarten delivered a grand dance performance to the song “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani,” followed by an outstanding tribute from the Upper Kindergarten students to the resilient spirit of our soldiers.
The freedom fighters, whose ideals were instrumental in securing our country’s independence, were not forgotten. A few children from Lower Kindergarten, dressed as eminent freedom fighters, captivated the audience as they took center stage to the beat of “Vande Mataram.”
Following the cosplay, all the children joyfully waved the Indian flag to the upbeat rhythm of the song “Jai Ho.” The choir then led the audience in singing the National Anthem.
The colourful and vibrant celebrations culminated with special remarks by the coordinator, Mrs. Beaula Thavamani.
