On Monday, 28th October, the eagerly awaited Kannada Elocution Competition took centre stage, celebrating the Kannada language, culture, and eloquence. The event was graced by Dr. Roopa Divya Swaroop, an esteemed MBBS graduate, gynaecologist, and dedicated social activist with a profound commitment to nurturing Kannada literature, who joined as the judge. Also present were our Principal, Mr. Alistair R.A. Freese, and Vice Principal, Mr. Anil Dutt.
Participants from Standards 1 to 7 represented their respective houses, delivering powerful monologues that showcased impressive confidence and poise, captivating the audience. Adding to the occasion, the school’s Music Department performed a remarkable piece, a delightful treat that left the audience enthralled. This competition stands as a testament to Cotton’s dedication to promoting India’s rich cultural diversity, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations next month.
The event was not only a showcase of oratory skills but also a celebration of our institution’s commitment to honouring the essence of Kannada and celebrating Karnataka’s linguistic heritage.
