In its inaugural edition, the Inter-House Music Competition for the Junior Section was held on the 7th of November, 2024, in a search for young, budding musicians. Students from grades I to V participated, delivering a range of invigorating renditions. The event was judged by Mr. Prabhakaran Wilson, Mrs. Raechel Joyce, and Mr. Ashwin Immanuel.
In the Western Vocals rounds, students from grades I to V performed songs from a variety of genres, including biblical themes, romance, rap, and pop. The audience was captivated by renditions of popular numbers such as Country Roads, Believer, Bye Bye Bye, Man in the Mirror, Change the World, and many others.
Following this, the Western Instrumental round featured grade IV students in a “battle of the bands,” showcasing their musical skills with songs like Night Changes, Reckless Love, and A Million Dreams.
For grade V, the Western Vocals round presented even more compelling performances with songs like Dance Monkey, On My Way, and other dynamic selections.
The competition concluded with a Western Instrumental round for both grades IV and V, featuring some of the most memorable performances of the day, including pieces like River Flows in You, My Heart Will Go On, You Raise Me Up, and more.
The Music Department’s tireless efforts to ensure the success of this event were indeed commendable.
