On January 28th, the Biology and Biotechnology students of Class 11 at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School embarked on an enriching field trip to the Gandhi Krishi Vigyana Kendra (GKVK) Campus of Agricultural Sciences. This visit marked a significant milestone in their educational journey, providing them with valuable practical exposure to agricultural and plant biotechnology.
Accompanied by their Biotechnology teacher, Mrs. Shaheen Taj, and Biology teacher, Mrs. Neelika Joel, the students explored various departments, including Horticulture, Hydroponics, and Plant Biotechnology. They had the unique opportunity to engage with professors and research scholars, delving into discussions on innovative agricultural technologies and ongoing research.
Additionally, the students interacted with pioneers of India’s Seed Project, which plays a crucial role in supporting the nation’s farmers. The excursion concluded with a visit to the Agricultural Sciences Museum, where they gained insights into India’s advancements in agriculture and plant biotechnology.
