“Creativity comes from God, as He is our creator.”, this was one of the opening statements used to inaugurate the 2024 art exhibition. Truly, as creations of God, our Cottonian family is blessed with the ability to create, to convert excerpts from their ever vivid imaginations into reality through the paintbrush and the canvas.
The 2024 art exhibition revolved around the theme “Hues Of Humanity” and featured model stories from the kindergarten block, displays exemplifying love of grandparents by the junior school,city models from the middle school and enhanced nature studies by the ISC. The inside of the Bishop George Edward Lynch auditorium contained traditional and contemporary art, abstract art, landscapes and more. The entrance of the auditorium also had a lovely make shift wall filled with small portraits of some of the teaching and non teaching staff- the very core of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School.
Our auditorium had been flooded with colour and expression in the form of various art pieces ranging from paintings of the outside world and wild animals to pop culture references like Angry Birds, Spider-Man, anime characters and many more. There were art pieces depicting automobiles, pieces with messages such as the futility of war, pieces showing off our young Cottonians’ patriotism and even an LED display model of the new Ayodhya temple.
At Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, our Cottonians are encouraged to show off their talents, however, this edition of the Art exhibition also included works by Mr. K.K. Prasad ,a member of the non teaching staff, who also contributed to this colourful display of talent with his work. Mr K.K. Prakash and all the young artists serve as an example of the endless amounts of talent seen among the members of the Cottonian family. We hope that our young Cottonians continue to improve and show off their creativity as they journey through Cottons’ and their lives.
