Bishop Cotton Boys’ School Kindergarten proudly hosted the first edition of the Interschool Fancy Dress Competition – Masquerade Magic.

The Lower Kindergarten theme, Magical World, saw a delightful array of enchanting characters come alive on stage — Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, fairies, wizards, mermaids, dragons, forest sprites, and more. The Upper Kindergarten theme, Best Out of Waste, showcased creativity at its finest, with imaginative costumes such as an Eco Queen, a Robot, a Scorpion, and even the Vikram Chandrayaan-3 Lander.

This inaugural edition welcomed participants from 11 schools, each adding their own charm and imagination to the stage.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Chief Guest, Rt. Rev. Dr. Vincent Vinod Kumar, Bishop of the CSI Karnataka Central Diocese, for his gracious presence and words of encouragement, and to our Guest of Honour, Mrs. Caroline Anita, for presenting the awards. A special word of appreciation goes to our esteemed judges — Mr. Alistair La Porte, Mrs. Ruth Krupala Manoj, and Mrs. Dorothy Z. Batha — for their valuable time and thoughtful insights.

It was indeed an honour to have our Treasurer, Mr. P. Johnson, with us, and we thank Rev. Christy Ganandasan for commencing the programme with a meaningful prayer. The Upper Kindergarten boys energized the audience with lively action songs, while the Junior 2 Band captivated everyone with their vibrant performance. The grand finale was a burst of joy as our teachers, dressed as clowns, filled the hall with laughter and cheer.

This interschool competition was a vision initiated by our Principal, and its resounding success stands as a testimony to his foresight. Events like these are invaluable for young children — they nurture creativity, build self-confidence, encourage public speaking, and foster overall personality development. The stage truly dazzled and sparkled with talent and imagination.

As the curtain fell on Masquerade Magic, one could not help but feel the joy of witnessing young talent shine so brightly.

“Every child is an artist; the stage is their canvas, and imagination paints the brightest colours of tomorrow.”
