Visits to Mithralaya Girls’ Home and Christu Seva Samaj

As part of the Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) programme, the students of Class 10 undertook visits to various charitable institutions, fostering the spirit of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility.

Visit 1: Mithralaya Girls’ Home
On 8th November 2025, the students of Classes 10 I and 10 J visited the Mithralaya Girls’ Home. The visit served to promote values of humaneness, service, and community engagement. The girls of the Home extended a warm welcome, tying rakhis as a symbol of friendship and goodwill. The students participated in Bible reading, a short prayer, a musical performance, a sign dance, and a gift distribution ceremony. The visit left a lasting impression on the students, reinforcing the Cottonian values of kindness and social awareness. The students were accompanied by their teachers, Mr. Vikas Paul and Mr. Vineeth Shekar.

Visit 2: Christu Seva Samaj and Little Angels Children’s Home
Students of Class 10 A, accompanied by Mr. Babu M, visited Christu Seva Samaj and Little Angels Children’s Home. The students interacted warmly with the children and elderly residents, engaging in conversations, playing games, and distributing essential supplies. Yohann Ashvik conducted the Bible reading, followed by a prayer led by Daivik Praneeth. A special moment during the visit was meeting Mr. I. G. Thomas, an Old Cottonian from the 1965 batch and a retired Air Force Commander, who shared fond memories of his school days. The interaction inspired students and highlighted the enduring Cottonian spirit.

These visits were meaningful experiences that deepened students’ understanding of empathy, service, and gratitude. The students of Classes 10 A, 10 I, and 10 J, along with their teachers, extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, Mr. Alistair R. A. Freese, for providing this valuable opportunity to engage in acts of compassion and community service.
