A Capacity Building Training Programme on “Child Rights and Development” was conducted for the faculty and staff members of the school on 12 June 2026. The programme aimed to enhance awareness of child rights, child protection, legal frameworks, and the role of educators in fostering safe and child-centric learning environments.
The resource persons for the session were Prof. (Dr.) Sripada Venkata Joga Rao, Founder of Legalexcel Attorneys, and Ms. Jyotsna Sripada, Director – Public Policy, Legalexcel Attorneys. Drawing upon their extensive expertise in law, public policy, and child welfare, they delivered insightful and engaging presentations.
Key areas covered included child rights and development, early childhood development, child protection and safeguarding, relevant legal and policy frameworks, the impact of technology and Artificial Intelligence on children’s well-being, and the role of educators in identifying and addressing developmental and behavioural concerns.
The session was highly interactive and enriched by discussions, case studies, and practical examples. The resource persons effectively connected legal and policy perspectives with real-life educational contexts, making the programme both relevant and meaningful.
The training significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of child rights, child protection, and their responsibilities as educators in ensuring the holistic development and well-being of every child. The programme was well received and proved to be a valuable professional learning experience.
