A team from Bishop Cotton Boys’ School participated in the Asian Parliamentary Debate Competition hosted by KLE Law College at its Bengaluru campus on 27th March 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 20 schools.
The school was represented by Ayush Prem (XII B), Dhruv Kulkarni (XII C), and Sukrit Sivaprasad (XII D). The competition required participants to assume the roles of parliamentarians and engage in structured debates on topics of national importance, public policy, and socio-economic issues.
The team delivered an impressive performance across multiple rounds, progressing to the quarter-finals. In this round, they debated as the Government (Proposition) on the motion to prohibit religious and ethnic symbolism in political offices and public institutions.
Sukrit Sivaprasad was adjudged Best Speaker (Male) for his outstanding articulation and persuasive arguments in the role of Government Whip. He was awarded a cash prize of ₹2,000.
The event concluded on a high note, fostering critical thinking, eloquence, and the spirit of informed debate among students.
