World Environment Day
As part of their World Environment Day celebrations, Bishop Cotton Boys School organized a special assembly on the 7th of June,2019 in harmony with the theme “Beat Air Pollution” (UN) .
Mrs. Suja Warriar, Leader CSR, Infosys, was the special guest speaker, who is well known for utilizing her passion of reviving the Tribal Communities of India. In her speech, she stressed on “Money plants in plastic bottles” as a wealth out of waste initiative to check the rising pollution levels while remaining aesthetically pleasing to the senses.
She added that she would like to be an active participant in all the eco activities conducted by the school like seed ball making and DIY paper bag making. The school though rich in greenery, added a few more plants to keep up the cause of ” take care of your environment and it will take care of you” Finally, Mrs. Elizabeth Angiras, HOD, Dept. of Environmental Sciences, led the student body in a pledge, that promised to nurture the nature in a sustainable way.
