The Kannada Rajyotsava celebration held on 18th November was a vibrant tribute to Karnataka’s rich heritage, history, and cultural identity. The programme brought together students, faculty, and staff in a spirited display of pride and unity.
The assembly began with a devotional song by the Kannada Department teachers, setting a tone of reverence. This was followed by insightful speeches—delivered first in Kannada and then interpreted in English—highlighting Karnataka’s journey, the importance of linguistic identity, and the responsibility of preserving cultural traditions.
Winners of the Kannada Essay Competition were honoured during the event, receiving warm appreciation for their commendable proficiency. A graceful classical dance performance by middle and senior school students added colour and artistry to the celebration, beautifully showcasing Karnataka’s cultural vibrancy.
Principal Mr. Alistair R.A. Freese addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Kannada and encouraging students to uphold and promote its legacy. The Kannada Rajyotsava programme was effectively curated under the dedicated leadership of the Kannada HOD, Mr. Babu M, whose efforts ensured a meaningful and well-organised celebration.
The event concluded with the singing of the State and National Anthems, instilling a deep sense of pride and unity.
