The Inter-House Elocution Competition for Middle School was held on 27th November 2025 at the Bishop Edward Lynch Cotton Auditorium. A total of 30 enthusiastic speakers from Standards VI and VII participated, with each house represented by three speakers from each grade.
Students of Standard VI recited poems from the Victorian period, while those from Standard VII presented works from the Romantic era. Their performances showcased clarity, confidence, expressive voice modulation and a strong understanding of the chosen poems.
Pettigrew House emerged as the Overall Winner, followed by Thomas House in Second Place. The Third Place was shared by Elphick House and Pope House, reflecting the uniformly high standard of competition.
The judges commended the students’ preparation, diction and poetic interpretation. Special gratitude is extended to the Middle School English Department faculty for their dedicated guidance, meticulous preparation and unwavering support in ensuring an exceptional and well-conducted competition.
