The final match of the R.K. Von Goldstein Memorial Cricket Tournament was held between Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bengaluru, and Vasant Valley School, Delhi.
Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, the defending champions, won the toss and elected to bat first. Their innings was anchored by a splendid unbeaten knock of 123 runs by Siddharth, enabling the team to post a formidable total of 232 runs.
In pursuit of the target of 233, Vasant Valley School displayed a composed and determined batting performance. They successfully chased down the total in the 19th over, with the loss of four wickets, thereby emerging victorious.
Siddharth was adjudged the Best Batsman of the tournament for his exceptional performances with the bat, while Rushil was named the Best Bowler for his consistent excellence with the ball.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Bishop Cotton School, Shimla for their gracious invitation and warm hospitality extended throughout the tournament. We also place on record our thanks to Mr. Wilson Sampath Kumar, Manager and Mr Moin Ahmad Coach of the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School cricket team.
Although Bishop Cotton Boys’ School could not retain their championship title this year, their performance was marked by resilience, sportsmanship, and skill, befitting the proud legacy of the institution. Well done boys, you have done us proud.
