A CISCE–ISRO Confluence with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla
Cottonians connect with India’s first astronaut to the International Space Station
Bishop Cotton Boys’ School had the honour of participating in the CISCE-hosted webinar “Igniting Minds, Exploring Frontiers: The Convergence of Space, Education and Industry” on 10th October 2025. The keynote speaker, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla—Indian Air Force officer and ISRO astronaut—made history as the first Indian to visit the International Space Station, serving as the Primary Mission Pilot of the AXIOM-4 Mission.
Presided over by Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, the event drew participation from over 100 leading schools across India and Dubai. Group Captain Shukla shared his inspiring journey and offered deep insights into space science, sustainability, and the future of human exploration beyond Earth.
Harsh Mageshkumar posed the final question of the session, followed by a heartfelt tribute from Adish Jain. A recorded message prepared by Mrs. Neelika Joel, Mrs. Indu Shinto, and Mrs. Sheeba Nancy conveyed the school’s admiration and gratitude for the astronaut’s pioneering spirit. Special thanks to Mr. Dhivyanathan and Mrs. Mercy Stanley for organising the session.
This landmark interaction was a proud moment that reignited Cottonians’ curiosity, ambition, and pursuit of excellence.
