Recycle It All, No Matter How Small

Education about waste management in schools plays a significant role in increasing students' perceptions of the environment.
A crucial objective of waste management is to promote public awareness and to educate students about proper waste disposal methods and recycling practices.

An organisation called Anubhuti Welfare Foundation, based on Waste management, had conducted a waste exchange programme in our school in the month of July 2023 to foster and highlight our students, to adopt sustainable habits and to practically involve in segregation of waste and recycling programmes.

Their mission is to uplift the unsung heroes of India’s waste management ecosystem and to empower the kids to become revolutionaries and to create sustainable changes, and nurture a world where waste becomes a resource, bringing wealth and wellbeing for all.

The WOW Program “Wellbeing Out of Waste” is an offshoot of this foundation and funded by the ITC group of companies.

This mega event of campaigning and collection of note books, books, journals and newspapers in our school would not have been possible without the unwavering guidance, encouragement and support by our Principal, Vice Principal and the HOD of the Department of Environmental Science, Mrs. Elizabeth Angiras, students from kindergarten to Std 8 of Middle School took part in this programme. The students were made to understand that what they were doing is for a noble cause and to make a meaningful impact in preserving our environment and ensuring the well-being of our society.

We are glad and proud that Master Aman of Std-8B, contributed 46.4 kgs of dry waste and received the Swachh Bharath award.

In recognition of our contribution and commitment towards sustainability, our school was appreciated and given an award for the meticulous work on 23rd January 2023. Mrs. Jeevalatha and Ms. Anto Priscilla attended the final programme.
