Forging Future Leaders
“There are three essentials to leadership: humility, clarity, and courage.”
– Chan Fuchan Yuan
The Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School was held on 20th June 2025, marking the formal induction of the Student Council for the academic year 2025–2026. The solemn occasion sought to instil in the young leaders the ethos of leadership, commitment, and service.
The ceremony commenced with the Principal, Members of the Board of Management and Vice Principal escorting the Chief Guest, Mr Karthik Naidu, into the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Auditorium. They were followed by the student leaders, led by the School Captain Designate Nitin Joseph, bearing the school flag. The names of the newly appointed Senior and Junior Office Bearers were announced by Mrs Evelyn Sumana.
A soulful invocation was offered by Rev. Dr. Vincent Vinod Kumar, Diocesan Secretary of the KCD, seeking God’s divine blessings for the proceedings. The Principal then welcomed the gathering and set the tone for the afternoon.
The highlight of the ceremony was the induction of the new prefects, recognised for their leadership qualities, academic excellence, and commitment to the school’s values. The Oath of Office was administered by the Principal to the three Chief Office Bearers:
- Nitin Joseph, School Captain Designate
- Daksh Jain, Head of Day Scholars Designate
- David Luis Sumer, Head of Boarders Designate
Subsequently, the School Captain led the rest of the Senior and Junior Prefects in taking their oath of office.
The Chief Guest, Mr Karthik Naidu, Founder and CEO of StartYourSaaS.io and the White Petals Group of Institutions, delivered an inspiring address. Drawing from his own journey as a leader and entrepreneur, he urged the students to lead with vision, integrity, and commitment, while embracing innovation—particularly in the rapidly evolving field of AI where his firm has been at the forefront.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Daksh Jain, Head of Day Scholars, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, members of the faculty, staff, parents, and students.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer and benediction by Rev. Christopher, Samuel after which the newly appointed prefects exited the auditorium in solemn procession—donning their prefect ties and badges—symbolising the trust and responsibility now vested in them. It was a moment of immense pride for the students, their families, and the entire school community.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to the newly elected prefects and look forward to their outstanding contributions to Bishop Cotton Boys’ School in the year ahead.
On, Straight On!
