Bishop Cotton Boys’ School marked a historic milestone with the inaugural NCC Navy Raising Day, becoming the first private school in Bangalore to have all three wings of the National Cadet Corps—Army, Air, and Navy. This momentous achievement reflects the school’s unwavering commitment to discipline, leadership, and service to the nation.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Capt. Manikandan Nambiar, Commanding Officer, 1 Karnataka Naval Unit NCC, Bengaluru. His presence added great significance to the event, as he addressed the cadets, inspiring them to uphold the values of the Indian Navy—courage, integrity, and perseverance.
A special word of gratitude is extended to Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, an esteemed Old Cottonian, whose support and guidance made this achievement possible. His contribution has ensured that Cottonians now have the unique opportunity to train under the prestigious NCC Naval Wing.
The success of the raising ceremony would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of Mr. Wilson Sampath Kumar, Mr. Robertson (ANO of the Naval Wing), Mr. Vinod Sampson, and Mr. Louis. Their hard work and commitment ensured a seamless and memorable event.
The school also expresses appreciation to Mrs. Evelyn Sumana for expertly compering the program and to Mrs. Prabha for her outstanding IT support, which included the preparation of videos and slides that enriched the event.
This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for Cottonian cadets, who will now embrace the rigors of naval training and uphold the school’s proud legacy of excellence in service and leadership.
On Straight On!
Jai Hind!
