Middle School Parents’ Orientation – 12th June 2025
Bishop Cotton Boys’ School

The Middle School Parents’ Orientation for Classes VI, VII, and VIII was held on Thursday, 12th June 2025, at the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Auditorium. The event served as a vital bridge between the school and parents, offering an insightful overview of the institution’s ethos, academic framework, and expectations for the year ahead.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mrs. Sujin John. A compelling visual presentation titled “Reflections from the Middle School Corridor” captured key moments and milestones from the 2024–2025 academic year, highlighting student growth, achievements, and classroom engagement.

Our Principal, Mr. Alistair R. A. Freese, delivered an inspiring address that resonated with clarity and conviction. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between home and school, setting the tone for a year rooted in mutual support and academic excellence. The Principal also introduced the core and part-time faculty, underscoring the team’s commitment to nurturing each child.

The session featured detailed briefings on the curriculum design, teaching methodologies, evaluation procedures, and examination timelines. Parents were encouraged to ask questions and engage in open dialogue. The candid interaction that followed allowed for valuable clarifications and affirmed the school’s transparent approach.

The event concluded with a thoughtful Vote of Thanks by the Middle School Coordinator, Ms. Mary Avis. The National Anthem was sung with reverence, bringing the programme to a close.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Principal, Ms. Mary Avis, Associate Coordinators Mrs. Reena Premkumar and Mr. Wilson Sampath Kumar, and the dedicated Middle School faculty for their meticulous planning and execution of this orientation. The overwhelmingly positive response from parents stands as testimony to its success.
