Discipline and Self-Management – “Be the Boss of Your Choices”
A counselling session on “Discipline and Self-Management – Be the Boss of Your Choices” was conducted on 19th August 2026 at the Edward Lynch Cotton Auditorium for students of Std. VI A to I. The session was conducted by Mrs. Hannapriya, Middle School Counsellor.
The session focused on developing self-discipline, self-management, self-control and responsible decision-making. Students were encouraged to understand that their choices shape their behaviour and ultimately influence their future. The key message was:
“I control my choices; my choices shape my future.”
A mime video presented everyday situations at school and home, helping students understand the consequences of positive and negative choices.
The Traffic Light Activity encouraged students to pause, think and choose an appropriate response rather than react impulsively. It helped them become more aware of their emotions, thoughts and actions.
A Cup Activity was conducted as a team-building exercise, with students working in teams of five to six. The activity highlighted the importance of patience, perseverance, communication, cooperation, teamwork and self-control, reinforcing the value of working together towards a common goal.
The session concluded with the key message:
“Stop. Think. Choose wisely. Stay calm. Communicate clearly. Work together. Never give up.”
The school expresses its sincere gratitude to Mrs. Hannapriya for conducting this meaningful and engaging session and for equipping students with valuable life skills that will help them make responsible choices and become confident, disciplined individuals.
