The Parent Orientation Programme for the Lower Kindergarten and a few first-time parents of Upper Kindergarten students was held on 3rd June 2026 in the Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton Auditorium.

The auditorium was filled with enthusiastic parents eager to embark on the exciting journey of schooling at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School. The programme commenced with a reading from the Holy Bible, and a prayer led by Rev. Theodore William, Assistant Secretary of the CSI Karnataka Central Diocese, Presbyter-in-Charge of St. Mark’s Cathedral, and a member of the Board of Management of the School.

An engaging audio-visual presentation highlighting the school’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, achievements, and numerous opportunities provided parents with a glimpse into the dynamic world that awaits their young learners at Cottons.

The guest speaker for the occasion, Dr. Debmita Dutta, a renowned parenting consultant, was warmly welcomed and introduced by the Vice Principal, Mr. Dhiviyanathan J. In her insightful keynote address, Dr. Dutta captivated the audience by speaking on the vital role of parents and extended family members in nurturing responsible, confident, and self-motivated children. She encouraged parents to invest quality time in their children and to establish simple yet effective routines that foster holistic growth and development.

Following her address, Dr. Dutta engaged in an interactive question-and-answer session, thoughtfully responding to numerous queries raised by the parents.

The Principal, Dr. Alistair R. A. Freese, then introduced the Lower Kindergarten staff and extended a warm welcome to the newest members of the Cottonian family. He also elaborated on important school procedures, expectations, and guidelines, while addressing various concerns and clarifying queries raised by the parents.

The programme concluded on a positive and inspiring note, with parents leaving the auditorium reassured, informed, and filled with hope and aspirations for their children’s educational journey at Bishop Cotton Boys’ School.
