On the 22nd of August, around 50 boys of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, accompanied by three teachers, visited the Nandini Milk Factory at Dairy Circle for an enriching industrial exposure.

The visit provided the students with a firsthand understanding of the supply chain process—from milk collection from farmers to processing, pasteurization, and packaging. They observed the state-of-the-art facilities where products such as paneer, butter, ghee, mango lassi, Mysore pak, and curd are produced. The boys were especially fascinated by the automated machinery used in packaging curd and other milk products.

The emphasis on quality checks and stringent hygiene standards left a strong impression on the students, highlighting the importance of safety and consistency in the dairy industry.

To make the experience more memorable, the factory presented the boys with samples of Mysore pak, buttermilk, peda, and cookies at the end of the tour.

This industrial visit gave the students a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with practical application, deepening their appreciation for the processes involved in the production and packaging of dairy products.

Gratitude to Mrs Shampa Poddar for organising the industrial visit.
