The Hindi Department of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School organised a Hindi Diwas Celebration on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, in the Mini Auditorium to celebrate the richness and cultural significance of the Hindi language.
The programme was compered by Daksh Singhvi, School Captain, and commenced with the School Song, followed by Bible Reading by Mr. Ganesh Babu, Prayer by Mrs. Jayalakshmi, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Students of Junior I presented a vibrant dance performance, adding colour and cultural spirit to the occasion.
Mr. Chandrashekar, HOD Hindi, delivered the Welcome Address and introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Supriya Singh. The Debate Winners subsequently presented their speeches with confidence and eloquence. Dr. Supriya Singh addressed the gathering on the importance of Hindi as a language of communication, culture, literature, and national expression, inspiring students to appreciate and take greater interest in the language.
The programme continued with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, honouring students who excelled in various Hindi competitions. Vice Principal Mr. Dhivyanahan J addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of preserving and celebrating Hindi and congratulating the winners and the Hindi Department for their efforts.
Atharv of Standard 10 proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem.
