Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bengaluru, commemorated its 161st Founders’ Day with a special assembly on Friday, 14 August 2026, celebrating the vision of its founder, Reverend Samuel Thomas Pettigrew, and the enduring legacy of the institution.
The programme commenced with flag hoisting, the School Song and Founder’s Hymn, followed by the Call to Worship, Bible Reading and Prayer. The celebration featured a special mascots’ performance, a welcome address, poetry, music, dance and a presentation tracing the school’s remarkable journey since its founding in 1865.
The highlight was the address by Mr. Rajeev Raja, distinguished Cottonian, creative leader and musician. His return to his alma mater and his inspiring journey from a Cottonian student to an accomplished professional and founder of BrandMusiq added special significance to the occasion.
The formal programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, Pettigrew House Song and National Anthem. A Chapel Service, led by Reverend J. Christopher Samuel and Reverend Rachel Sudarshan, followed, providing an opportunity for prayer, reflection and thanksgiving.
Founders’ Day 2026 was a fitting celebration of heritage, faith, creativity and school spirit, honouring the past while inspiring generations of Cottonians to carry the legacy forward.
