On 26th November, Bishop Cotton Boys’ School observed National Constitution Day with a special assembly that transformed the stage into a space of profound historical reflection. Students and teachers from all grades came together to honour the ideals and vision that shaped our nation.
The programme began with a prayer and Bible reading, after which our compere, Rishith Roy, smoothly led the proceedings. A soulful musical performance lifted the atmosphere and set an inspiring tone for the event.
Daksh Jain, Head of Day Scholars, delivered a powerful speech highlighting the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the enduring legacy of their struggle for a free and united India. His words offered a meaningful reminder of the values that form the bedrock of our democracy.
Our Principal, Mr. Alistair R. A. Freese, then led the gathering in the Preamble oath, rekindling national pride and reaffirming our responsibilities as citizens of this great nation.
Students from both the Junior and Senior School presented vibrant dance performances that added colour, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit to the celebration.
The highlight of the assembly was a compelling dramatic presentation by the senior school students. Their performance portrayed the hardships endured during the Partition, the resilience of our forefathers, and the intense debates that shaped the formation of our Constitution. It powerfully illustrated why the Constitution stands as a pillar of integrity, unity, and identity for India.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Humanities Secretary, Charan C., leaving students with a deeper appreciation of our nation’s constitutional heritage and a renewed sense of national spirit.
