The CISCE Table Tennis National Championship 2024 took place from the 26th to the 29th of September at St. Teresa College, Lucknow. Representing Bishop Cotton Boys' School as part of the Karnataka delegation were David Luis Sumer of Class XI and Hruday of Class X.
The Karnataka team arrived in Lucknow on the 26th of September and was warmly welcomed by the host school, which ensured they were comfortably settled in their accommodations. That evening, coaches and team managers attended a briefing to discuss the competition schedule and logistics.
The competition commenced on the 27th with an opening ceremony. Matches were held at a different venue, where the U-19 events, both team and singles, were completed. Unfortunately, the Karnataka team was knocked out in the group stages of the team event. In the singles category, David was eliminated in the first round, while Hruday advanced to the second round but did not progress further. Meanwhile, the U-14 and U-17 team events proceeded to the quarterfinals.
On the 28th, the U-14 and U-17 events concluded with remarkable success for the Karnataka U-17 team, which secured first place in the team event and claimed 1st and 2nd positions in the singles. Additionally, the Karnataka U-14 team finished as runners-up in the team event.
The Karnataka team returned home with several accolades, marking a successful conclusion to the championship.
