Bishop Cotton Boys’ School Inter House Marathon conducted on 19th October, 2024.

This morning, Bishop Cotton Boys’ School successfully hosted the much-anticipated Inter House Marathon, marking the event’s return after a five-year hiatus. Over 400 students from classes 4 to 12 participated, making it a memorable display of athleticism, sportsmanship, and school spirit. The event brought together students, staff, and parents for a vibrant morning of competition and camaraderie.

The marathon was divided into four categories:

  • ISC and Senior students tackled a challenging 5 km route.
  • Middle and Junior School students participated in a 3 km run.

A collaborative effort from all involved ensured the event’s smooth execution. Special appreciation is extended to the Vice Principal, Mr. Anil Dutt, and Mr. Devraj, along with the Physical Education faculty, for their dedication in organizing the marathon. Both academic and non-academic staff played crucial roles at checkpoints along the route, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The uniformed services also played an important role in assisting the participants.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Old Cottonian Mr. Arham Faheem for his generous support, which allowed the school to provide a second ambulance on-site, ensuring the safety and well-being of the students throughout the event.

The marathon concluded with the following House standings:

  1. Pettigrew House – 1st Place
  2. Thomas House – 2nd Place
  3. Elphick House – 3rd Place
  4. Pakenham Walsh House and Pope House – Joint 4th Place

The Principal, Mr. Alistair R.A. Freese, presided over the prize distribution ceremony, with parents in attendance, adding to the lively and supportive atmosphere.
