“A Good Turn will educate the cub out of the groove of selfishness,” encouraging every Cub to move from “What can I get?” to “What can I give?”
The overnight camp for the Cubs of Classes 4 and 5 was held at the Dr. Annie Besant Scouts and Guides State Training and Camping Centre, Doddaballapur, Bengaluru Rural. The camp provided an opportunity for the Cubs to learn essential scouting skills and develop teamwork, discipline and self-reliance.
Day 1: The Cubs settled into their tents and participated in various activities, followed by a flag ceremony and campsite inspection. A session on the history of Cubs and basic first aid was conducted by Master Prem, Senior Scout, and Dr. Vinu, where the children learned and demonstrated basic first-aid techniques. The day ended with a lively campfire, fun activities and games, leaving the Cubs with wonderful memories.
Day 2: The morning began with BP-6 exercises, followed by a nature walk through the forest. The Cubs also learnt knot-tying techniques and worked together enthusiastically. Before dispersal, they cleaned the campsite and packed their belongings.
The camp reinforced the values of discipline, cooperation and self-reliance while creating lasting memories for all the participants.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Sadhana Rajesh, Ms. Eveline C., Ms. Deborah Dorcas S., Ms. Poonam and Mr. Vikas Paul for their guidance, supervision and support.
On Straight On!
