Cottonians Lend a Helping Hand to Restore a Public Library

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School has undertaken a meaningful community service initiative by assisting in the restoration of a Government Public Library.

As part of this endeavour, the NSS volunteers have been actively engaged in cleaning, sorting, and systematically labelling hundreds of books to help reorganise the library and make it more accessible to the public. Their dedicated efforts aim to revive the library as a vibrant learning space, particularly benefiting children who cannot afford to purchase books of their own.

Through this initiative, the Cottonian NSS team has demonstrated the true spirit of social responsibility, compassion, and service by contributing towards improving an important community resource. Their work will help ensure that the library serves as a welcoming centre for learning and knowledge, encouraging a love for reading among young minds and making quality educational resources available to all.
